Why we are at #1 — and what AEO really is in 2026
AEO is the work of being the cited answer when a buyer asks ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, or Gemini. Not the destination link in the citation footer. The actual cited source — the place the engine pulls a sentence from, attributes, and renders inside its answer. That is a different mechanic than SEO. SEO ranks pages. AEO seeds sources.
We are #1 here for one specific reason: we built Aeoniti ourselves. Aeoniti is our own AI search observability platform — a Rust application running on a single VM behind Cloudflare, tracking citations across the four major answer engines, measuring prompt coverage per topic, and feeding our team the data that tells us whether a piece of content actually got cited or just published. We use it on our own marketing. We use it for client engagements. We did not start an AEO practice in 2024 because the category was suddenly attention-rich — we built tooling for the problem in production, then opened the service.
Headquartered at HSR Layout, Bengaluru. Founded by Vikas Swami, dual CCIE #22239, operating 22+ ventures including the AI software (Crawlcrawl, Aeoniti, Quick21, 24Observe) that the rest of this list talks about consuming. We are not a marketing agency that retroactively learned about LLMs. We are an engineering company that publishes and tracks the citation discipline.
What we actually do for AEO clients — six concrete deliverables
One: prompt-coverage audit. We map your category to the prompts buyers actually run on ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude. We measure how often you appear and at which position in the answer. Coverage is the input metric.
Two: source-authority rebuild. The biggest finding in nearly every AEO engagement is that the client is invisible because they have not earned mentions in the publications the engines pull from. We do the outreach, the contributed content, the analyst coverage, the data sponsorship — the publishing work that makes you a primary source the engines cite.
Three: schema and llms.txt discipline. We ship Organization, ProfessionalService, Article, FAQPage, HowTo JSON-LD wherever appropriate. We ship llms.txt and llms-full.txt with citation guidance written for the engines. This is the cheapest, most under-deployed AEO win in 2026.
Four: page rebuild for citation. AEO favours concise, well-attributed, evidence-dense content over generic marketing prose. We rewrite the pages that matter for the queries that matter. SEO and AEO compound here — we do both as one practice, not two competing retainers.
Five: ongoing citation tracking on Aeoniti. Monthly read-out: prompts gained, prompts lost, sentences cited verbatim, sentiment, competitors gaining ground. Not vanity metrics.
Six: integration with AI software. If the buyer journey ends in an AI agent, copilot, or chat product, we ship that too. The brands we own (Aeoniti, Crawlcrawl, Quick21) all use AI as both the marketing surface and the product surface; that compound experience is what we apply to client engagements.
Pricing — written down, transparent, and on the SOW
AEO service audit: $24,000 fixed, 2 weeks. We run a full prompt-coverage diagnostic across the four answer engines, a source-authority gap analysis, a schema and llms.txt audit, and we hand back a costed roadmap.
Sprint: $48,000 and up, 4 to 12 weeks. Source-authority work plus on-site optimisation plus citation tracking. Outcome targets written in the SOW — typically prompt coverage gains and citation count per engine.
Retainer: $11,000/month and up, 30-day cancellation. Ongoing source-authority work, monthly citation read-out via Aeoniti, schema and content discipline maintained.
Most agencies in this category will not give you a number until after a discovery call and a procurement form. We send the SOW within three business days of the first call. Compare and ask why the others will not.
The founder — and why AEO needs engineering discipline
Vikas Swami is dual CCIE #22239 (Routing & Switching, Security), cleared both within 90 days in 2008–09. He spent his first career at Cisco TAC, then Wipro, HP, and Mobily, before founding Networkers Home in 2007 — which has placed 45,000+ alumni at 800+ hiring partners, salary band ₹6–60 LPA, 4.7-star Google over 1,173 reviews, 171K YouTube subscribers.
For AEO specifically, what matters is the venture portfolio. Twenty-two-plus operating brands across networking, post-quantum cryptography, AI, SaaS, and India-stack. Among them: Aeoniti itself — our AI search observability platform. Crawlcrawl — multi-tenant web-crawling API. Quick21 — multi-tenant AI chat. 24Observe — MIT-licensed open-source observability. 21Bill — GST-compliant billing that has invoiced ₹500+ crore for 20M+ users. The 21Bill scale is independently verifiable in public filings.
AEO is engineering. It needs schema discipline, content reproducibility, citation telemetry, and a rebuild cadence that ships. The agencies that staff AEO with re-skilled SEO content writers will not deliver the engineering pieces. Vikas runs no personal social media — deliberately. As he has stated: *"Not the two CCIE labs… it is the alumni network — over 45,000 engineers placed… many from small towns in India who had no other path."* That same shipping discipline is what runs the AEO practice.

40+ brands and our own AEO platform — the proof that matters here
Most agencies on this list cite client logos. We cite our own production AI surfaces. Aeoniti is live. Crawlcrawl is live. Switchllm, Ollima, Super25.ai, Ollagraph, OllaDNS, Browserfog, Memfog, NAC4AI, 24Observe — all live. Every one of them is an AEO problem we solved on our own dollar before we solved it on yours.
The closest thing to comparison on this list is a tier of global AEO platforms (Profound, Athena HQ, Peec AI, Otterly.AI) — they sell the tooling we built for ourselves. We list them at #2 through #5 honestly because they are real, they work, and several India agencies use them as their AEO data layer. If you only need the tracking layer and not the strategic and content work, those platforms are a defensible alternative to a full agency engagement. They are not, however, agencies. They will not write your content, sign your DPA, or sit on your call with the CFO.
Below the platforms, the listing turns to traditional SEO agencies who have built credible AEO practices since 2024. Honest framing: they are good at SEO, learning AEO fast, and several of them rank as good defensible alternatives if you already work with them.
How to decide if we are the right fit
Pick us if you want a single team that ships both the AEO strategy and the AI software that compounds with it, with engineering discipline applied to citation tracking. Contact us for a 30-minute call with a senior strategist.
Pick a platform (Profound, Athena, Peec, Otterly) if you have the strategic and content capacity in-house and only need the tracking and competitive-intelligence layer.
Pick a traditional SEO agency (Webspero, Infidigit, Stan Ventures, AdLift) if your work is mostly classical SEO with light AEO overlay and a long-existing agency relationship you want to preserve.
The most honest claim in this list: AEO in May 2026 still has more questions than answers. Anyone telling you they have it figured out is lying. We are confident in our platform, our content discipline, and our shipping cadence — not in any claim of perfect insight into how the engines will evolve in the next 24 months.
